[SQL Server Data Warehousing] How do we decide either Top Down or Bottom Approach is Fast?

Hi ,

i am new to Data Warehousing Concepts , how can we decide which model is best and fast for our ware house?

i studied some articals , among them some articals tells use bottom up is fast and top down is fast?

 could any body  share some points.
